Understanding Blindness Kit

This unit of study produced by Vegas PBS with the support of the CCSD Student Support Services Division promotes awareness of blindness and visual impairments through thoughtful and engaging hands-on and interactive activities. Sighted students are empowered with the knowledge, understanding and skills that will enable them to interact confidently with friends who are blind or visually impaired (VI students) while providing VI students the opportunity to express their individual needs and be understood. This curriculum aims to increase positive social interactions between students who are blind or visually impaired and their sighted peers in the classroom.

This kit is available on loan through the Vegas PBS Special Needs Resource Library.
