Welcome Angie Carr, Our Next General Manager!

Angie Carr will begin as the next General Manager of Vegas PBS on Monday, January 4, 2027 — bringing with her extensive experience in education, community engagement, and fundraising.
This comes on the heels of the retirement of Mare Mazur from her position as President and General Manager in September of this year — marking the conclusion of five years of visionary leadership.
Carr is currently serving as Vice President and Chief Impact Officer at Nine PBS in St. Louis, Missouri. There, she oversees community engagement and leads fundraising from foundations and grants.
In her time at Nine PBS, she has been instrumental in the station's Emmy award-winning multimedia literacy project "Drawn In," as well as "Teaching in Room 9," an ongoing resource for families and educators that initially launched during the pandemic.
She also helped secure and support Ready To Learn funding for early literacy, family engagement, and community-based learning.
"We have an opportunity to create content that educates, connects, and reaches the people who can benefit from it most, while working alongside our community to make a meaningful impact across Southern Nevada," said Carr.
She and her family will make Las Vegas their home.
Her selection for the General Manager position follows a nationwide search conducted by a committee of Vegas PBS staff and Southern Nevada education and broadcasting representatives — whose recommendation the Clark County School District Board of School Trustees approved in an October 8 vote.
"Angie’s experience bringing education, public media, and community partnerships together makes her a strong choice to lead Vegas PBS," said CCSD Superintendent Jhone Ebert, who advanced Carr's appointment to the board. "Her leadership will help strengthen the station’s service to students, families, and lifelong learners across Southern Nevada."
Vegas PBS Chief of Broadcast Operations and Emergency Response John Turner will continue as Interim General Manager until Carr's arrival in early 2027 and will support her transition.
