As you will see, today’s ruling is an encouraging development for public media and a meaningful affirmation of the importance of independent, community-serving journalism and education.
It’s important to note that this decision does not negate the act of Congress in July 2025 to rescind funding for public broadcasting. The Corporation for Public Broadcasting remains dissolved, and there is no indication that federal funding will be reinstated.
While I do not expect an immediate operational effect on Vegas PBS, the events of the past several months have sharpened our focus at the station in important ways. They have reminded us not only of how much this community values our work, but also of the responsibility we must meet this moment with clarity, purpose and discipline. We are emerging from this period with an even stronger commitment to service, trust, and impact.
At Vegas PBS, we remain committed to serving Southern Nevada through education, storytelling and essential services, work that now depends more than ever on the support of our community.
I remain deeply grateful for your continued support and advocacy on behalf of Vegas PBS.
Warmest regards,
Mare
