LAS VEGAS, NV – The Red Rock Canyon Chapter of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (NSDAR) presented Vegas PBS with the America 250! Commendation Medal in recognition of the station’s contributions to education and the study of history. Vegas PBS President & General Manager Mare Mazur accepted the medal from the NSDAR in a special ceremony at the Vegas PBS studio on December 8, 2025.
The honor comes off the heels of the critically-lauded documentary, The American Revolution, by Ken Burns, Sarah Botstein and David Schmidt. The six-part, twelve-hour documentary provides a nuanced and thorough account of the campaign for American independence and the human stories of a major moment in history.
“I’m incredibly honored and humbled to accept this medal on behalf of this entire station,” said Vegas PBS President & General Manager Mare Mazur. “We are committed to providing our community with thoughtful and engaging content about history like The American Revolution, as well as many other programs about science, arts, culture and more.
