LAS VEGAS, NV – Vegas PBS’ original series, Vegas PBS STEAM Camp, is returning for a second season. The three new episodes, featuring the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds, Allegiant Stadium, Springs Preserve and many more organizations will air on Fridays starting July 9 at 9 a.m. and 2 p.m.
Aimed towards children ages 6-8, Vegas PBS STEAM Camp is designed to bring the fun and discovery associated with camp directly into viewers’ homes. The first season investigated topics including how waves transmit programs to television sets and the science behind water slides. In the second season, the show will seek to answer questions like, “How does a Thunderbird jet fly so fast?” and “What is a robot?” The program also features field demonstrations including the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds, Allegiant Stadium, McCarthy Building Companies, Kimley-Horn, Springs Preserve, FIRST Nevada, NV Energy and the Las Vegas Philharmonic.
In addition to the interviews with experts, each episode includes a segment with the Las Vegas-Clark County Library District and an investigation related to the research question that children can conduct at home. Caretakers are encouraged to submit videos of their children performing the investigations to the Vegas PBS website at vegaspbs.org/steamcamp.

An Emmy award-winning educational series, each episode of Vegas PBS STEAM Camp is driven by a phenomenon-based question and the program utilizes community experts, interactive at-home STEAM challenges, and literacy extensions to support inquiry-based learning and conceptual understanding.
