SNPT was founded in 1971 as the Friends of Channel 10 to support Vegas PBS programming through fundraising, volunteers, and marketing events. The Friends of Channel 10 group was reorganized to become Southern Nevada Public Television in 1999, to assist Vegas PBS with the government-mandated conversion to digital broadcast and the capital campaign to build the Vegas PBS Educational Technology Campus.
SNPT’s Planned Giving Council focuses on major gifts to Vegas PBS. Members of the Council present ten public seminars a year on a variety of planned giving topics and provide free services for individuals planning major gifts to Vegas PBS.
