Event Details

Celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month at the Las Vegas Natural History Museum with a variety of events throughout October, including:

  • October 11 (11 a.m.–noon or noon–1 p.m.): A hands-on calavera paper mâché workshop led by guest artist Vanessa Maciel from the Nevada Arts Council. Recommended for ages 6 and up. Registration is required, as supplies are limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis.
  • October 12, 19, and 26 (10:30-11:30 a.m.):Kids ages 3–13 are invited to step into a world of stories, dance, and creativity with Cuentos Que Bailan, a lively workshop with Sara Ives featuring a story from Hispanic culture, dance moves woven into the tale, and a themed craft to bring the lesson to life. Supplies are limited — first come, first served.
  • October 18 (11 a.m.-noon): Discover the fascinating history of tacos in a hands-on workshop where you can learn how this iconic dish became a favorite while you paint your own plate of tacos. No experience needed and all materials provided. presented in English with Spanish Q&A available. Recommended for ages 12 and up — but space is limited to 20 guests, and reservations are required.
