Event Details

Elevations: A Salon is a free performance event where musicians, performers, poets, fashion designers and filmmakers explore the many definitions of “elevation."

Join Black Mountain Institute and the Library District to explore “elevation” in some ways it is experienced and understood in our valley home.

Hear from local filmmakers, the renowned Mariachi Joya, emerging fashion designers and theater artists, slam poets, and a classically trained ballerina who also happens to be a physical comedienne. Through their performances, we’ll spend an evening that spans snowcaps to storm drains, and everything in between, and think about what these ups and downs mean for us.

Featuring:

  • Elle Hope (Emcee)
  • Spotlight Poetry Las Vegas Slam Team
  • A short film by Carlos Tkacz
  • Fear and Funghi, a short play by Lucky Stiff (directed by Adriana Chavez)
  • Las Vegas High School’s Mariachi Joya
  • Bella Schleiker, dancer & circus artist currently appearing in Miss Behave’s Mavericks
  • A fashion show by UNLV’s Runway Rebels
