May 17-18: Lake Las Vegas Dragon Boat Festival

Join Lake Las Vegas Dragon Boat Club for its First Annual Dragon Boat Festival at The Village — featuring dragon boat racing, traditional lion dance, food, vendors, and more.

Dragon boat racing is one of the fastest-growing sports in the world. Teams of 20 or 10 paddlers, a drummer, and a steersperson race in authentic Hong Kong-style dragon boats in this unique cultural event. 

Lake Las Vegas Dragon Boat Club is a volunteer-run dragon boat club based at Lake Las Vegas in Henderson, Nevada. The Club is a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation and operates exclusively to promote and expand the dragon boat community and to foster national and international dragon boat competitions. 

Race Schedule

Saturday, May 17 (200m races): 

• Race Divisions for 10-person crew on Standard Dragon Boat (10 paddlers, 1 steer, 1 drummer, 1 alternate) Mixed, Women’s, Collegiate, Open
• ​Race Divisions for 20-person crew on Standard Dragon Boat (20 paddlers, 1 steer, 1 drummer, 2 alternates) Corporate/Community, ACP, BCP, Paradragons, and Youth

Sunday, May 18 (500m races): 

• ​Race Divisions for Standard Dragon Boat (20 paddlers, 1 steer, 1 drummer, 2 alternates) Mixed, Open, Women’s, Masters.
