Today, we’ve been asked to share the sad news of the passing of Marydean Martin, community leader and wife of 66 years to Charlie Sylvestri. But we also celebrate her extraordinary life. She was a true visionary and the foundational heart of the Vegas PBS family.
For decades, Marydean’s dedication as a donor, volunteer, and SNPT Board member helped shape the very fabric of Vegas PBS. But beyond her titles as a founding member of Ready To Learn and our Women’s Engagement Council, we remember her spirit. Marydean was a constant source of joy; she was always smiling, always happy, and quite simply a true pleasure for our staff and leadership to work alongside.
Her impact, alongside her husband Charlie Silvestri, is woven into the history of KLVX and the future of Vegas PBS. While her loss is deeply felt by all of us and our friends in government and community leadership, we choose to focus on the warmth she brought to every room she entered.
