LAS VEGAS, NV — Vegas PBS Be My Neighbor Day returns on Saturday, October 4 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at The Lawn in Downtown Summerlin. Be My Neighbor Day is a free outdoor event that promotes being a caring neighbor.
Attendees can engage in community-faced acts of kindness and take part in family-friendly activities. PBS KIDS' beloved characters Daniel Tiger and Miss Elaina will be on stage for guest appearances throughout the day.
Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood is an Emmy-winning animated preschool program that models age-appropriate social-emotional strategies and practical life skills for young children. The first TV series inspired by the iconic Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood, Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood stars 4-year-old Daniel Tiger, who invites young viewers into his world, giving them a kid’s-eye view of his life.
“Together with almost 70 community-sponsored booths, we are committed to creating a welcoming event that invites all neighbors to participate, connect, and feel valued,” said Vegas PBS Executive Director of Education & Business Development Niki Brunetti. “This year’s Be My Neighbor Day will include new features, such as a video wall and activities designed to encourage meaningful conversations and deepen the message of kindness and community.”
This event is made possible with the generous support from our local community supporters and Presenting Sponsors Howard Hughes and PNC Bank.
“PNC’s commitment to early childhood education spans more than 20 years,” said Denette Suddeth, PNC Bank regional president for Nevada. “Through our signature philanthropic initiative PNC Grow Up Great®, we have helped millions of children across the country get a great start in school and life. Here in Nevada, we are proud to support Be My Neighbor Day with our Grow Up Great® programming and look forward to the fun.”
