Nevada Week In Person | C.L. Gaber
Cindy Gaber, who also goes by the pen name C.L. Gaber, has spent 30 years as the senior film writer for the New York Times Syndicate, and she has a way with celebrities that enables her to pull from them some meaningful and inspirational content for her “Sunday With” column for the Las Vegas Review-Journal.
She is celebrating her fifth book in her “Ascenders” series saga called “X-Catcher.” The series is based around a 17-year-old girl named Walker Callaghan who gets into a car accident with her mother and wakes up to find out that she has died and is now in limbo where she is required to finish high school.
Gaber said she has been approached several times by people thanking her for helping them with grief in their own lives through the book series.
Gaber moved to Southern Nevada from Chicago 13 years ago after a high school sweetheart contacted her to reconnect. While in Chicago, she worked with the legendary film critic Roger Ebert at the Chicago Sun-Times. Gaber credits Ebert with helping her in her film writing career.
