July 8: Declaration of Independence Public Reading

The Sons of the American Revolution Southern Nevada, Signers Chapter, and Old Las Vegas Mormon Fort State Historic Park present a special commemoration of the first public reading of the Declaration of Independence.
This nationwide event marks the historic reading that took place on July 8, 1776, and will be celebrated simultaneously in all 50 states. Listen to the Declaration read by elected officials and community leaders, witness a color guard in Continental-era uniforms, and enjoy admission to the museum.
This program is suitable for all ages (minors under 18 must be accompanied by an adult) and offers a unique opportunity to reflect on the nation's founding during the America 250 commemoration.
