Mars in Your Hand: What Meteorites Teach Us About the Red Planet Presented by Save Red Rock and the Bureau of Land Management

Join Bureau of Land Management (BLM) rangers and guest speaker, Sierra Ramsey, Ph.D. candidate at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, for an evening of planetary exploration and stargazing! 

  • Discover the secrets of Mars and learn how scientists study meteorites to uncover the planet’s volcanic history.
  • Explore the beauty of our night skies with telescope viewing provided by the Las Vegas Astronomical Society.
  • Discover what local community partners are doing to protect our night skies, and learn why they are so vital.
  • Enjoy fun activities for kids.


Warm clothes and red flashlights are recommended.
