Roundtable Discussions with Mitch Fox

For more than 25 years, Vegas PBS has been bringing Nevadans insight on local politics. We have established a reputation for producing incisive, citizen-based, election-year specials that provide the electorate with invaluable information about pressing issues facing our community, our state, and our nation.

This year, roundtable discussions allow viewers to get to know both side of the issues of the Marijuana Ballot Initiative (Question 2) and the Firearms Background Check Initiative (Question 1).

Award winning broadcast journalist and former host of Nevada Week in Review Mitch Fox moderated the roundtable discussions. Fox has moderated local, state and national debates for more than 25 years including the only U.S. Senate debate between Senator Harry Reid and Sharron Angle.

Firearms Background Check Ballot Initiative (Question 1): Election 2016

Question 1 would prohibit the sale or transfer of a firearm without a federal background check. This program addresses the pros and cons of gun control and how it relates to criminal activities and the mental health system.

Featured guests were Jennifer Crowe, Nevadans for Background Checks; Steve Wolfson, Clark County District Attorney; Ryan Hamilton, Deputy Director of NRA-Nevadans for Freedom; and Stavros Anthony, Las Vegas City Councilman.

Marijuana Ballot Initiative (Question 2): Election 2016

Featured guests were Joe Brezny, Nevada Cannabis Industry Association; Chris Giunchigliani, Clark County Commissioner District E; Todd Raybuck, Executive Lieutenant at the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department; and Pat Hickey, Nevadans for Responsible Drug Policy.
