Annually, Vegas PBS issues a literacy-promoting challenge to families throughout Southern Nevada: encourage your young children to imagine, write and illustrate an original short story, and enter it for competition in the Vegas PBS Reading Rainbow Young Writers and Illustrators Contest.

All area children in grades K-3 are eligible to compete. Illustrations are required, and a word count limit (by grade level) is strictly enforced. Entries in braille and languages other than English are accepted, but must be accompanied by an English translation.

Entries into the 15th Annual Reading Rainbow Story Contest must arrive at Vegas PBS no later than:
5pm on Friday, April 3, 2009
