Islamic Impressions, Artist Fawzia Ghafoor-Khawaja

Islamic Impressions - Artist Fawzia Ghafoor-KhawajaAn ancient religion with 1400 years of cultural history comes together with the modern city of Las Vegas in the exquisite creations of local Muslim artist, Fawzia Ghafoor-Khawaja. Originally educated in architecture, Ghafoor-Khawaja now runs a successful design business called “Simply Impressions.” She also paints and practices traditional Islamic calligraphy all while raising her young children. It’s a busy life, but a rewarding one, and her hard-work is paying off. Ghafoor-Khawaja’s elegant paintings and sophisticated wall-decals can be seen adorning the walls of numerous homes across the Las Vegas Valley. We follow Ghafoor-Khawaja as she takes us on a journey through her creative process, revealing what motivates her and how the long, rich history of Islam influences her work.
