PBS KIDS

Streaming Video Enjoy Vegas PBS educational programs on your schedule by watching them on Vegas PBS Video On DemandPBS KIDS video player, or via a Roku player or Xbox 360. Streaming video allows families to view their favorite educational programs anytime using only an Internet connection.

PBS KIDS Stream PBS Kids shows using the closed-captioned video player or link to online games and activities based on each show to help children quickly learn skills in math, literacy, and social and emotional development, while having fun.

PBS KIDS

PBS KIDS Lab hosts more than 50 free games featuring PBS Kids characters to help children build math skills. It also features ideas for educational games to play at home.

PBS Parents

PBS Parents is filled with trusted information, parenting tips and tools to help raise a happy, healthy child. Educational games and activities are based on popular PBS Kids programs. The site has a Spanish option on the homepage to help Spanish speaking parents and caregivers.

OnePlace

OnePlace helps teachers manage their online education content more effectively to reduce time spent searching for content. Teachers in subscribing public, private, charter and home schools have access to more than 200,000 videos, maps, tests, lesson plans and other resources, many available in both Spanish and English.

GOAL

GOAL Online Education offers adult education programs taken entirely over the Internet. Courses are affordable, fun, fast, and designed to help individuals meet their goals. Programs include Hotel English Online, General Education Diploma (GED) preparation, Teaching English as a Second Language (TESL), medical technician, paralegal and more.

Broadcast Resources

English Language Learner

Television: Vegas PBS Channel 10 broadcasts 24 hours of educational programs every day, including 12 hours of educational children’s programs each weekday from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Children who watch PBS Kids programs learn math, literacy and social development skills while learning English.

Closed Captioning: All Vegas PBS television and streaming broadcasts contain closed captions.While watching, turn on closed captioning for additional English language support. Seeing English words as subtitles on the screen while they are spoken during the program helps children and adults learn to read English faster.

Mobile Resources

PBS Parents Play and Learn: This free learning app (iPad, Android Tablet, iPod, iPhone and Android phone) has an English and Spanish version. Spanish-speaking parents can switch back and forth to help their child work on math and literacy skills in either language at home or on the go. The mini-games within the app are also translated.

PBS Mobile Apps

Mobile Apps and Games has dozens of games for mobile devices that parents can play with their kids to keep them entertained and learning on the go. Children who engage with PBS Kids content at home and on the go score higher on math and reading tests. Many games are available free in app stores

Community Outreach

Ready To Learn Parent Engagement Workshops: Parents and caregivers are taught ways to increase the value of PBS educational children’s programs. Licensed trainers combine storybooks, short clips of PBS educational children’s programs, and adult/child activities, all related to one theme or skill, to help preschoolers learn about the world. Families are given books and materials in English/Spanish to extend the workshop theme at home.
