Vegas PBS Hosts Luncheon and Holds Screening of School Desegregation in Southern Nevada, a Local Production

WHO/WHAT: Vegas PBS is hosting a luncheon and screening of School Desegregation in Southern Nevada for invited guests. The local production explores the history of the integration of Southern Nevada schools, focusing primarily on the period of the 1960s through the 1980s. The program presents stories of how courageous and dedicated individuals made integration a reality. Dr. Sonya Horsford serves as narrator and the special features numerous local archival images. The invited guests will include some of the people who lived this history and community members who helped to develop this local production. Dr. Horsford is scheduled to attend and make remarks.

This program is part of the efforts of Vegas PBS, a public service media organization, to encourage students to stay in school. The station participates in the American Graduate initiative which is supported by the Corporation for Public Broadcasting.
