(Las Vegas) – Reggie Burton, a longtime member of Southern Nevada Public Television Board of Directors, which raises funds for Vegas PBS, has been elected to serve on the 2104 National Friends of Public Broadcasting Board of Trustees. Burton joins Charlotte Hill, giving the national board two representatives from Southern Nevada Public Television. Burton will begin serving a three-year term on January 16.

The National Friends of Public Broadcasting is a resource that connects public broadcasting volunteer managers and volunteers to their public media colleagues around the country. The mission of the organization is to support volunteerism within public broadcasting through leadership, education, training, mentoring and recognition.

“It is an honor and privilege to represent Vegas PBS as a member of the 2014 Friends of Public Broadcasting Board of Trustees,” said Burton. “Having two members from the same station speaks to Vegas PBS' leadership role within public broadcasting.”
