Summer medical program youth meet for reunion event
Alumni of CampMED 2016 and 2017 return to diagnose another patient
Graduates of the 2016 and 2017 CampMED – a summer healthcare program for incoming high school students who wish to pursue a medical career – hosted by Desert Meadows Area Health Education Center, a service of Vegas PBS, and several partners, including: Touro University Nevada - College of Osteopathic Medicine in partnership with Roseman University - College of Medicine and University of Nevada, Las Vegas - School of Medicine.
Graduates will come together for a reunion event. The reunion will start where CampMED left off: graduates will spend the afternoon working to diagnose a fictitious patient with their critical-thinking skills and knowledge of medicine originally honed at CampMED.
Sunday, February 25 from noon to 5:30 p.m.
Touro University, 874 American Pacific Dr., Henderson, NV 89104
The reunion continues the hands-on learning opportunities in biomedical science workshops involving research and clinical problem-solving. It is a way for Nevada youths from previous CampMED programs to reengage with the fields of clinical medicine and medical self-efficacy as well as strengthen personal relationships.
